Electric Tomography
Electric tomography is a multielectrode resistivity method. The goal of this method is obtaining 2D and 3D mapping of real resistivities of the subsurface denominated geoelectric profile, from which we can determine subsurface structure, paying mind to the variations on terrain resistivity. It is possible to observer anomalous zones that may exist due to geologically contrasting structures or presence of fluids such as water and mineral content altering resistivity values of terrain.
Applications
-Groundwater prospecting/Aquifer characterization studies
-Salt-water/Contamination studies
-Saturation and salinity estimation
-Time-series/Infiltration/Remediation monitoring
-Mineral exploration
-Fault/fracture zone identification
-Archaeological surveys
-Karst investigations/Void detection
-Assessing anisotropy through azimuthal surveys
